BMW is expanding its Mexico vehicle assembly plant to build EVs. — BMW is investing $868 million in its San Luis Potosi assembly plant to build next-generation electric vehicles. The body shop, assembly and logistics areas will be expanded and a battery pack assembly center will be built. (BMW)

SAN LUIS POTOSI, Mexico — Republican U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump has threatened to levy tariffs of up to 200 percent on cars made in Mexico as he revs up the trade rhetoric ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
